1. Claims caused by unfavorable natural conditions and man-made obstacles. Such obstacles or conditions are those that cannot be reasonably foreseen by an experienced contractor and occur during construction, increasing the difficulty of construction and causing the contractor to spend more time and expense.
2. Claims for project extension and delay. It includes two aspects: construction period claim and expense claim, which should be prepared separately, because the claims in these two aspects may not be established at the same time. If the construction period is delayed purely due to reasons on the part of the owner and the engineer, the contractor should not only be given an appropriate extension of the construction period, but also be compensated for the corresponding costs.
3. Claims for accelerated construction. Sometimes the owner or engineer will issue instructions to speed up construction (the reason for which is not caused by any responsibility and reason of the contractor), which will lead to an increase in construction costs and cause claims. According to the provisions of the FIDIC contract, incentive methods can be used to compensate for construction costs. Incentivize contractors to overcome difficulties and complete work ahead of schedule (or on time).
4. Claims arising from temporary interruption of construction and reduction of work efficiency due to any responsibility and reasons that are not the contractor's responsibility.
5. The owner improperly terminated the project and caused a claim.
6. Claims arising from owner risks and special risks.
7. Rising prices lead to claims.
8. Claims arising from default in payment of project fees.
9. Claims caused by changes in regulations, currency and exchange rates. If after 28 days before the deadline for bidding, any regulations, decrees, decrees, regulations of the owner's country or place change, or the government of the country where the project construction is located (or its authorized agency) changes one or more currencies for payment of the contract, If restrictions or currency exchange restrictions are imposed and cause losses to the contractor, the owner shall compensate the contractor.
