Foreigners and stateless persons enjoy the same treatment as Chinese copyright owners in calculating the protection period of their copyrights. The period of protection of their copyrights starts from the date the work is first published. , ends on December 31st of the fiftieth year after the death of the copyright owner.
Whether the property rights of foreigners and stateless persons enjoy the protection period stipulated in the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China depends on whether the foreigner becomes a Chinese copyright owner.
Foreigners and stateless persons to obtain Chinese copyright owners must meet one of the following three conditions:
1. Works of foreigners or stateless persons shall be submitted in accordance with the agreement signed between the country of origin or habitual residence of the author and China or the international treaty to which both countries are party;
2. Works by foreigners and stateless persons are first published in China;
3. Authors from countries that have not signed an agreement with China or jointly participated in international treaties and foreign The works of persons and stateless persons are published for the first time in a member state of an international treaty to which China is a party, or are published simultaneously in member states and non-member states.
Among the above three conditions, "the work is first published in China" means that the work of a foreigner or a stateless person is published in China and meets one of the following circumstances:

2. Works by foreigners or stateless persons are first published outside China and then published within China within thirty days;
